Hello and welcome back! You might have noticed I’ve been a tad absent on this blog for nearly a year now. I can’t believe it’s been that long! I’ve taken some time out to really get myself in check and improve my headspace.
I’ve taken up therapy which has REALLY helped me and I am so thankful to have a safe space to discuss whatever I want, however I want. Something else I really wanted to do on my road to self improvement was to get back in touch with my creative side.
My brain is super active and I’m always coming up with ideas, concepts and plans and without an outlet I find myself going a little wild. I’ve always been a creative person, I love film, photography, art, nature. I love being a free spirit, being able to make what I want, how I want.
Recently I’ve been feeling incredibly inspired by a photographer called Brandon Woelfel, you’ve possibly heard of him and if you haven’t then you’re at least familiar with his style. He is famous for using lots of neon lights, fairy lights and hella blue and pink tones. He’s super creative and experimental and very inspiring!
I decided to give it a go at recreating my own version of this photograph, I grabbed my fairy lights and the only reflective sunglasses I own, shut my curtains and off I went! I edited these in lightroom, mostly playing around with the RGB curves and temperature to create the blue tone and really blow out the lights.
Tell me what you think!
I’m really hoping to do a lot more photography this year and learn new shooting and editing skills. I love playing around with colour and lights but I’d also like to take some landscape snaps. I’m visiting Edinburgh next week so this will be the perfect opportunity, so keep your eyes peeled for more from me this year!
Peace & love x
