    How To Thrift Efficiently

Now I’d like to think I’m pretty good at shopping secondhand, I tend to find what I want, at the price I want and with fairly good quality as well. I’m no fashionista but I’ve been buying my clothes secondhand for nearly 4 years now so I’d say I’m quite the thrifiting veteran. There’s definitely some tips and tricks to shopping secondhand, and especially how to do it efficiently and without continuing to buy things you don’t actually want and won’t actually wear. 1. The Fit Does it fit you how you’d like it to fit you? When looking for clothes secondhand I will look at all the sizes, including…

    Christmas Jumpers

So I recently found ALL my christmas jumpers and I am loving life. I thought I’d share them with you because why not!    This isn’t so much of an obvious Christmas jumper but thats what I like about it, It’s just red yet still Christmassy! This means really I can wear it all year round. It’s not too thick either so I can layer it or just wear it with a shirt underneath, perfect.    This is your typical grandad jumper, it’s so warm and old and I thrifted it a few years ago now. It’s the dream grandad Christmas jumper. Perfectly oversized and stretch with a whole in…

    Thrift Haul – Secondhand Finds!

HAUL So I’ve been browsing the charity shops ALOT recently and I’ve managed to find some pretty neat stuff. I’m always thinking ahead to what I might need so I’ve been on the look out for some warmer winter items and some new shoes for when my current ones wear out. Band T’s   I freakin’ love finding band t’s in charity shops, there’s just something about a second hand band t that makes it so much better than buying a fresh new one. My favourite way to wear band t’s is tucked into a pair of high waisted ripped jeans, if they are super oversized though a pair of…

    Lets Talk Body Positivity!

So I felt like addressing something slightly different today. Something that jumped out at me was the topic of body positivity, so today you’ll see me writing about clothes sizes! I work in a charity shop therefore I come in contact with various brands and various sizes from all over the place. Now it’s no secret that clothes sizes can vary, especially in shops such as H&M, but what really concerns me is just how much these size actually differ. There are so many dependents when it comes to wearing clothes, how you like the fit, the size of your boobs, the size of your waist, your shoulders etc. The idea…

    Haulternative – Fashion Revolution Week

So to mark the end of Fashion Revolution Week I thought I’d do a haulternative, now if you don’t know what this is it’s when you haul clothes that you maybe bought second-hand, or you swapped with a friend or family member or even DIY’d! I have a pretty big collection of second-hand and swapped clothes so I narrowed it down to a couple of outfits. Now I’m not much of a “fashionista” and I never have been so this isn’t an all in, accessories and everything kind of post but more or less your everyday throw it on and leave the house with minimal effort kind of post.  …

    Building A Sustainable Wardrobe

In order to build a sustainable wardrobe you need to look at your past, present and future shopping habits. A sustainable wardrobe is more than just buying expensive, well made clothes. It’s about being conscious, knowing where your clothes are coming from and making that conscious effort to buy sustainable and ethical. Here I will help you take the first steps to creating and building your sustainable and ethical wardrobe. PAST. Go through your wardrobe and look at where you used to shop, what labels do you own? Are any of the labels you own ethical? I imagine you’ll probably have items from Topshop, H&M and Primark so here is…

    Sustainable & Vegan Bags

So i’ve been on the hunt for a sustainable vegan backpack for years now. I’ve always struggled finding one because they’re either “sustainable leather” or plastic, neither of which is an option for me. Recently though I stumbled across a brand called Eve Cork who make sustainable bags, wallets and briefcases out of cork, something I hadn’t previously thought of! Cork is one of the most sustainable and ethical materials around, a much better choice than plastics or even PU Leathers. Cork is renewable and recyclable, it comes from the cork tree which lives for more than 200 years! Cork is harvested by stripping off the bark from the tree every…

    PHB Ethical Beauty Lip Gloss

So in Februarys The Natural Beauty Box, I got this beautiful lipgloss from PHB Ethical Beauty. I hadn’t had anything from PHB Ethical Beauty before but they were a brand I saw a lot of in the cruelty free and vegan blogosphere. Firstly this shade is gorgeous, it’s the exact one I would have picked out for myself if I had the choice so 5 stars to The Natural Beauty Box on their shade choice. Now I’ve never been a fan of lip gloss if I’m honest, even hearing those words “lip gloss” takes me back to the early 2000’s when it was merely glitter in what was practically mild glue.…

How To Save Money and Be Ethical

Something I’ve noticed since adapting a more ethical lifestyle is how much more money I have, now it’s not a coincidence that I am spending less now than before, there’s a lot of things I’m doing differently. One thing I changed in my new lifestyle is how I thought about clothes. Previously I would be in H&M and New Look every time there was a sale on, I would end up spending a lot more than planned because you think “Ah £5 for a shirt!?” but when you pick up 5 of those shirts that’s already £25 down the drain on some pretty average items you probably didn’t need and…

    What I got for Christmas

So I didn’t ask for/need anything for Christmas this year, my family don’t really do “asking” for things or writing lists anyway, I find lists a bit strange to be honest. Anyway, I got a nice little selection of things from my family and Billy’s family this year so I decided to share some of them with you. From Billy, I got a cute reusable wooden advent calendar, a pair of second-hand Nikes (that I knew about because I was there when we found them, but I still acted surprised) and some cute heart shaped measuring cups. My parents got me a recipe book, some funky plates, a couple of…
